Happy Cloud Pictures is celebrating its 13th Anniversary in style in 2010 and hopes you’ll join in the festivities.

* First up is a brand new 10th ANNVERSARY EDITION of their first feature THE RESURRECTION GAME! This 16mm “zombie-noir” began production in 1998, wrapped in 2000, and was viewed in multiple “bootleg” editions—both authorized and not—all across the world. See this movie as if for the first time with a digitally remastered DVD that comes packed with two audio commentaries, motion menus and a 40-minute documentary boasting never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage (including some shots unseen by even the producers since 1998!). The DVD officially “streets” on April 30 for $19.99 (+ s/h), but can be preordered now from the HCP website at a discount with free shipping! Go to www.happycloudpictures.com

Tying in with THE RESURRECTION GAME DVD is a pair of special publications:

* ANNOTATED SCREENPLAY AND SCRAPBOOK. This is the shooting script of the film illustrated with dozens of photographs, production artwork and concept sketches. It concludes with a special scrapbook section with snippets of the original treatment and the different permutations the movie has undergone over the years. Much of the contents have never been publicly available and should be a treat for fans of independent film. Available through HCP and Amazon on April 2nd for just $9.99 + shipping.

* THE DEAD LIFE – New Printing! A graphic novel based on the “exterminator” section of the film and illustrated by six different artists. Originally published as an “ashcan” by HCP in 2002, this new edition is a handsome 26-page volume with a full-color cover by HCP’s Bill Homan and includes a “missing page” by Tony Esposito left out of the original publication. THE DEAD LIFE is available now through HCP for just $5.00 (+shipping)—it’s more expensive on Amazon so this is the best route to go. Plus it will come autographed by writer/editor (and The Res. Game director) Mike Watt.

Throughout the year, look for special web videos from H.C.P.’s newest star, “The Spawn of Phil” with more announcements and future projects—including news about their forthcoming feature

DEMON DIVAS AND THE LANES OF DAMNATION!

Plus, don’t forget these other fine products currently available:

* SPLATTER MOVIE: THE DIRECTOR’S CUT – Directed by and Starring Amy Lynn Best, Splatter Movie tells the story of a group of filmmakers who set out to shoot a movie about a group of filmmakers…all the while a killer posing as a member of the cast is picking them off one by one while the line between reality and fantasy blurs—before disappearing entirely. Also starring Tom Sullivan (The Evil Dead), Debbie Rochon (The Colour from the Dark), Rachelle Williams (Jess Franco’s Take-Away Spirit) and Elske McCain (Poultrygeist), this unrated DVD comes with a “Bonus Film” fleshing out the behind-the-scenes mythology. Order from Happy Cloud Pictures for just $14.99 and get free shipping!

* SPLATTER MOVIE – THE ILLUSTRATED SCREENPLAY – the original shooting script (which differs significantly from the finished film) illustrated with dozens of full-color photos, introduction by Tom Sullivan and annotated by director Amy Lynn Best. Same terms apply: order from HCP for just $14.99 and receive not only free shipping but a copy autographed by Best and Watt.

And don’t miss these books from Happy Cloud Publishing:

* PHOBOPHOBIA – we are told we have nothing to fear but fear itself—and here are 13 tales of fear from Mike Watt. With a beautiful cover by Romik Safarian, an introduction by Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Amber Benson and featuring five never-before-published stories. Order an autographed edition for just $6.99

* THE INCOMPLETE WORKS OF MIKE WATT, Vol. 1 – As a film journalist for both print and the web for over a decade, Random Acts collects a variety of essays and articles from his on-going Film Threat columns Random Acts of Mike Watt and The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth and illustrated with a variety of bizarrely appropriate photographs. Introduction by the legendary bassist Mike Watt (The Minutemen)! Order this hefty volume autographed for just $9.99

* EUROPA’S CRY: AN ANGEL’S TALE – created and illustrated by world-renowned artist Michael Apice and written by Mike Watt, this is a story about an angel sent to Earth to “minister to the sick”—those that truly need her help, whether they believe in redemption or not—while dogged along her way by the “First of the Fallen”, now in the guise of a beautiful woman named “Patience”. The first in a series, featured on Fangoria Radio, EUROPA’S CRY is available from the site for just $4.99 + shipping.
